Witness Nature’s Power In Lassen Volcanic National Park
Lassen Volcanic National Park is a captivating destination, home to steaming fumaroles, wildflower meadows, clear mountain lakes, and numerous volcanoes. Its jagged peaks tell the story of an eruptive past, while hot water continues to shape the land. Highlights include Bumpass Hell, a hydrothermal site with bubbling mud pots, and the summit of Lassen Peak Volcano, which offers breathtaking views. The park also boasts a network of trails that connect with the Pacific Crest Trail, providing ample opportunities for hiking and exploring the wilderness.

While stargazing is possible year round, the warmer weather makes it far more comfortable during this time of year. These months also allow for wildflower viewing and participation in Ranger Led programs. Thirty feet of annual snow fall transforms the park every winter, offering a very different experience to visitors. From Late Fall to Early Spring, visitors can participate in activities like sledding/snow-play, cross-country skiing, backcountry skiing and snowboarding, or snowshoeing.
Lassen Volcanic National Park has two Visitor Centers and Two Park Stores. Located near the southwestern entrance to the Park is the Kohm Yah-mah-nee Visitor Center and the Kohm Yah-mah-nee Park Store located in the same building, both of which are open daily all year. Near the northwest entrance to the park are the Loomis Museum and visitor center which is open during summer months only. Across the parking lot from the Loomis Museum is the Loomis Residence Store which is open daily in summer months and limited hours during winter months.
